Wedding gift tip

A financial contribution to our wedding day would be highly appreciated.

Location

The wedding will take place at ‘Restaurant Fox’ in Denekamp (a 30 min. drive from Hengelo or Enschede).

It is quite tricky to reach the venue by public transport. A taxi would cost around 50 euros from Hengelo, or 60 euros from Enschede (taxis in The Netherlands are very expensive). We are therefore looking into arranging transportation for guests. Please reach out if you need a lift.

Transportation

• Flights: 

Flying is relatively cheap if you book early. Easyjet is usually the cheapest option from Belfast or London to Schiphol airport.

• Driving: 

Depending on the number of people sharing a car, driving could be the cheapest way to get to our venue! Eurotunnel tickets can be purchased from 110 pounds return. In theory, it takes 8 hours to get to the venue from London, but traffic and stops tend to add a few hours to the journey. https://www.eurotunnel.com/uk/

• Train: Schiphol Airport to Enschede. 

From Schiphol Airport, there’s a train every 30 mins to Enschede, which will take 2:06 hours. Every other train is a direct train. For the non-direct train you have to change once in Amersfoort. The costs for train tickets are based on distance rather than peak hours and specific times; the price is therefore always the same regardless of when you buy it. A single for one adult is 29,10 (you can only buy a return ticket if you travel back on the same day). Children aged 4-11 can use a ‘railrunner ticket’ costing 2,50. Children under 4 travel for free. You can buy a ticket at Schiphol airport, either by using one of the yellow-blue machines or going to a ticket booth (but you pay 1 euro for the privilege of human interaction), or you could buy a ticket from 30 days in advance on ns.nl (English language available), which would save you a euro per ticket, (you don’t touch in with a printed ticket, but to get through turnstiles you have to scan the QR-code). Don’t forget to touch-in before you take the escalator down to the platform, otherwise your ticket won’t be valid. Most trains have free wifi! 

When you are travelling in a group there might be an option to buy a groupticket. The price of the ticket will depend on the size of the group and the time you are travelling. Ask at the counter for more information or via Off-peak Group Ticket | Individual tickets | NS.
